The Hurricane is our flagship model, taking it’s cue from the classic 50’s Single Cut guitars from Kalamazoo whilst adding our own unique twist on the fabled design which results in a fresh but familiar feeling guitar.
The one piece Mahogany body features is lightly chambered resulting in an extremely comfortable weight whilst adding a touch of air to the tone. The subtly carved Eastern Maple top adds all the bite famously associated with the very best guitars from 1959.
The one piece Honduran Mahogany neck with vintage correct 17 degree headstock angle is topped with a Premium AAA Indian Rosewood Fingerboard, vintage pattern Celluloid dots and off white ABS Binding.
The neck carve is the classic mid late 50’s profile, having studied and owned many mid 50’s guitars, I am so familiar with this wonderful, hand carved shape that nothing else can compare.
Available in 2 x PAF, 2 x P90 or PAF/P90 combinations, the pickups are individually hand wound, using vintage accurate materials including low carbon steel slugs, screws and keeper bars, rough cast Alnico magnets and copper-less covers. Premium CTS Pots, Switchcraft Switches and Capacitors are used throughout.
Finished in a lightly aged Goldtop using the original Crescent Bronze #256 powders in non-plasticised, vintage formulated Nitrocellulose lacquer.
