Who and what makes Ivison Guitars so special?
Ivison Guitars is a boutique electric guitar company based in Worcestershire, UK.
Helmed by Neil Ivison, a guitarist and guitar tech for over 30 years, who retired from international touring in 2018 and set up a busy repair and luthiery shop.
All Ivison guitars are built one at a time, from raw lumber billets to the final hand buffed 'vintage patina' finish.
Crafted using the finest quality materials, utilising both traditional and modern construction methods and techniques.
Our Workshop
We use Honduran and African Mahogany, Spanish Cedar, Korina, Eastern Maple, Indian Rosewood, celluloid inlays, celluloid binding and pickguards, aniline dyes, non-plasticised nitrocellulose lacquer and our own pickups, hand wound one at a time, then specifically matched for optimum tone into each guitar.
Every guitar is meticulously built and set up in our workshop, deep in the Worcestershire countryside.
Neil was joined in 2023 by renowned guitar tech Paul Cross who brings a wealth of guitar repair and pickup winding knowledge to the team.
Our Custom Wound Pickups
All Ivison guitars come loaded with our own handwired pickups.
Wound in-house using vintage accurate wire, bobbins and magnets to our exacting specifications and tolerances, each pickup is voiced from our own experience with the vintage units they recreate.
